Preparing for Your Visit

Meeting with a sex therapist for the first time can be daunting for some who feel uncomfortable discussing their sexuality. Rest assured I understand that talking about issues surrounding sex and intimacy can be extremely sensitive. My goal is to create a comfortable and safe environment where we can explore issues of sexuality and gender expression, resolve and confront sexual problems, and improve sexual relationships and awareness.

New Patients

As a new patient, be sure to complete all required forms and bring them with you on your first visit. This comprehensive package includes a questionnaire that lets you tell me all about your health history and situation. If you are engaging in couples therapy, please be sure to complete one set of forms for each individual.

Policies & Fees

Billing and Payments

I accept fee-for-service payment in the form of cash, checks, or via your health savings account. While I do not accept insurance, superbills are available upon request for clients who wish to seek reimbursement from their insurance providers.

Appointment and Cancellation Policy

My office hours are Monday through Friday, with morning and evening appointments available. Hours by appointment only.

I request that clients provide notice of at least 24 hours if canceling a scheduled appointment. If you provide less notice, and the appointment is not rescheduled for later that same week, you may be required to pay for the session in full.

After-Hours and Emergencies

I have both a direct phone number 207.749.9116 (with voicemail) and email for my private practice where clients can leave me confidential messages regarding scheduling or other work-related matters. I check my messages Monday through Friday and will return calls and email messages as soon as possible. Email is for non-urgent correspondence only.

If you call about an emergency situation, and I cannot be reached, your are encouraged to call a 24-hour emergency service such as Crisis Response at 1-888-568-1112 or 774-HELP for immediate assistance. Both of these contact numbers are made available through my outgoing voicemail message.  Both numbers are also provided to clients during the opening paperwork process.
